MONDAY

1. Warmup:  join.nearpod.com using code JYLQE
2. Go to Clever and select CommonLit app to access The Secret Identity of Superman. If the steps below do not work for you please let me know and use the PDF version >>>HERE<<<
    -STEP #1: Click on CommonLit app
    -STEP #2: Type in "South Cobb High" under school box
    -STEP #3: Choose Active Directory
    -STEP #4: Type in username (students@cobbk12.org)
    -STEP #5: Find assignment The Secret Identity of Superman and complete 3 things, annotate/highlight text, answer multiple choice, and write a paragraph answering writing question.
3. Go to Microsoft Forms link and complete a paragraph for the reading you did on Superman.
HW: Finish CommonLit "The Secret Identity of Spiderman" due Tuesday 25th.

TUESDAY

1. Warmup: join.nearpod.com using code GNVMP
2. Writer's Workshop: What is R.A.C.E and how can it make me a better writer?
3. Review CommonLit "Superman" and complete a 2-point writing using the Forms link.
HW: Finish paragraph in Forms due 26th and diagnostic test in Quill.

THURSDAY

1. Warmup:  join.nearpod.com using code NQJVI
2. Score/Revise Superman paragraphs.
3. Minilesson: Annotation. Jot down in notes 13 Reasons to Annotate.
4.. Read the Guardian article on NBA boycott.  Annotate text for evidence of the NBA and the players position on playing and the police brutality taking place in US.
HW: Go to Forms and rewrite your Superman R.A.C.E paragraph.  Include 1-2 direct quotes from the CommonLit text.  See revisions from class >>>HERE<<<

FRIDAY

  • Wednesdays will be used for completing homework, remediation, enrichment, specialized instruction, and extra help for students.  Teachers/departments will communicate specific times they'll be available for assistance and tutorial sessions on Wednesdays.  The Friday bell schedule may tentatively be adjusted by ten minutes to incorporate the school-wide Literacy Block.
  • If you are still in need of a student device for learning, please email Mrs. Maria Larrucea (maria.larrucea@cobbk12.org) with your request, with your picture ID attached.
  • If your student has issues logging into the platform once the instructions are provided by the district, please email our Media Specialist department chair Mr. Brian Ragsdale (brian.ragsdale@cobbk12.org).
  • Suggestions for student success during virtual learning: log on at least five minutes prior to the start of each class, be in a quiet location, check technology before logging in, wear school appropriate attire, stay muted when others are speaking, actively participate, raise your hand to speak and utilize the chat box for questions/comments, and speak clearly when called upon.
